Oceanografic

Valencia has the largest aquarium in Europe in its City of Arts and Sciences complex.  We visited yesterday.

Ezra, my nephew, is a fan of aquariums, and this one had some pretty cool stuff, including plenty of sharks.

The Oceanografic is layed out like a huge waterlilly, and fits well with the hypermodern style surrounding it.

Each "petal" of the waterlily houses a  different environment, like the Mediterranean or the Arctic or the Tropics.  Outside the environments there are ponds with various types of waterfowl and wildlife.

I enjoyed the tropical environment most.

The sharks were swimming freely with the rest of the fish.

And Mary kept asking why the sharks weren't feasting on the other fish.  I think she was hoping for a less tranquil show.

I'll end this post by letting the dolphins say their own goodbye.
