This post is for nerds only. I made the original photo, but google made this image.
Google photos includes an "assistant" that can create images on its own from your original photos. Although it's usually just annoying, I check the box that allows the assistant to do this. Sometimes I like the results, like this blurry night image of the bull ring.
Here's the original.
I think the original is almost a throwaway, but the google image I'll keep.
Here's another example automagically made from a photo I took from the Catalina bell tower.
And here's the original.
Again, for me, the google image is much better. It has a mysterious flavor, almost like it changed from modern Valencia to some Game of Thrones location.
I'm going to do a little research into what's going on behind the scenes here. I'd like to know exactly how the google photo assistant works. In the meantime, I have a few other photos that could use some enhancement.
How about this one?
I'm going to play around and see if I can improve this one, if the google photo assistant doesn't beat me to it. There are plenty of sites and apps for doing this kind of thing, and I'm sure there's lots to learn.
